What exactly means the concept of a "Sensitive University"?
Quoted from The "Sensitive University" Concept of the University of Pécs:
"The University of Pécs strives to create equal opportunities for education, research and participation for all people with disabilities. To thi send, it intends to pursue a policy that enables any disabled student to participate in th eofficial programmes and activities of the University and to prevent any student from being excluded from any activity or programme because of his/her disability. In order to implement this policy, PTE seeks to remove all existing physical, activity, behavioural and other barriers that may result in the exclusion of persons with disabilities from any degree of University programs or activities."
To this end, this objective was made public in 2015, aiming to achieve successful integration.
The foundations of this practice were summarised in the book: "Inclusive University - Developing Academic Excellence by Implementing Inclusion", published in 2015.
The Inclusive University Programme was launched in 2018. The experiences of the first years can be found in the publication "Inclusive University - Here and Now".
The Support Service staff are working every day to keep it alive, to make it better and smoother. But it is all the result of close cooperations.
The UnivTV has set out to introduce academics through a filter of disabled students, without whose dedicated supportive work the fact of "inclusion" would not be possible. We, the staff of the Support Service, but above all the students concerned, trust that their example is not unique and that it will serve as a lesson to be learned.
