Dragon sailing with a visually impaired eye

This year the PTE Dragon Boat Race took place again, which I went to together with the Support Service. From the Service I was joined by Máté Balogh (PTE-BTK), Gyula Libor (PTE-MIK), Dalma Sánta, Csaba Magdali, the head of the Service and myself.

I knew nothing about what was waiting for me. I thought that this would be the team, but it was not. In Orfű, I found out that a team consists of 20 people. So we were joined by students, teachers from the TTK and a lot of foreigners.

We chose the very fitting and descriptive name "Enthusiastic Amateurs" for the team. I approached to the rowing with high hopes and a competitive spirit. That was until we got in the boat and started to paddle, because that's when I realised that I wasn't very good at it. Despite this, I gave my best and our team progressed to the second round. Unfortunately we lost there and finished second last. But that's not the most important thing, as the programme allowed me to meet many new people, deepen my contacts and eat a good meal prepared by our team under the guidance of the TTK staff.

To sum up, the 11th PTE Dragon Boat Race was an extremely good and unforgettable experience for me, for which I am grateful to the organisers and the Support Service.
